Baby Werner Week 11!

Can you believe we are already one-fourth of the way done!!! Wow. I was really dissapointed that I had to call and cancel my midwife's appointment because my insurance card didn't come in the mail. :( I called about it yesterday and left a message. They returned my call today and said that it just hadn't been processed yet and that they would get right on it. So I am hoping to recieve that in the next few days. Of course, I can't go anytime this week because of the conference. But maybe the week after, in between conferences, I can go. I sure am hoping so. Anyways as long as all is well the baby is 11 weeks old and the size of a fig. :)Its hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under its gums, and some of its bones are beginning to harden. Its already busy kicking and stretching, and its tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. Pretty neat to imagine don't you think?

Hope you have a great evening!

Elizabeth's 1st Birthday!

Yesterday was Elizabeth’s 1st birthday! Can you believe it has already been a year?! Last night we had a small party for her. I was very happy that she didn’t have the “It’s my party I can cry if I want to” attitude but actually had smiles most of the night. She is walking now and is starting to get pretty good at it. We got it on video but Brandon hasn’t had any time to get it on the web.
Here is the birthday girl getting out of bed first thing.

She got lots of fun gifts although she didn’t act very interested in opening them last night. She liked her books and there was a puzzle that made music in one of the gifts. She really liked it and wanted to play it over and over again. She’s been playing with everything else today.

And then came the cake. Elizabeth enjoys eating and her birthday cake was no different. She had us all laughing as she dug in. It was hard to decide which pictures to post because there were so many fun ones so I picked a bunch. Hope you enjoy them!

She even shared some of her cake with Grandaddy. This is a monumental moment because my dad hates sticky things. When I was a little girl we ate our suckers in the bathtub so we wouldn't get sticky. So this was a big step for him. Proving that grandkids are really the ones in charge. :)

Elizabeth on the Piano

We were at my parents house and we went down to Grandma and Papa's to see them for awhile. Elizabeth enjoyed playing on the piano and struck some pretty cute poses while trying to copy cat what grandma was doing.

Good to be Home!

Sorry I haven't blogged since I've been home! There truly is no place like home! Like Brandon posted before, just a few hours after getting home from the airport it was off to the ladies retreat. I had a really good time there. Each year I really look forward to going and always mark my calendar as soon as the dates are available. Since I've been home all three of us have had terrible colds. We seem to be on the upward swing of things but colds just seem to hang around for the longest time. I thought mommy's weren't supposed to ever get sick. :)
Just in the last few days the real morning sickness has been setting in. Ugh. In many ways I am grateful because I haven't been to the midwife yet and this makes me feel like things are ok. And it could be much worse! I am just nauseous. I am just beginning my 9th weeks of pregnancy. Did you know that the baby is currently about the size of a grape and only weighs a fraction of an ounce? According to a weekly email update I get all of the baby' s major organs are already there they just need fine tuning, which will come with time. And the heart is finishing dividing into four chambers and is starting to develop its valves. I love reading how the baby is developing because it helps me know how to specifically pray for this child. I am excited about going to the midwife in a few weeks.
I am going to be attempting to take some one year pictures of Elizabeth Wednesday with my Mom's help so I will post those......eventually. :)

Hope everybody is having a great day and enjoying the fullness of the blessings of the Lord. Never forget... the blessing of the Lord is a person's greatest asset!

Blessings!

Rachael Made it Home!

Rachael's flight was delayed today but she eventually made it home! Elizabeth and I were VERY happy to see her! We brought her some yellow flower's to the airport (not unlike the one in the picture).

After being with Rachael for just a few hours, she was off to the women's retreat :(

I have a funeral I am going to in Loton tomorrow so I won't see her until tomorrow night. The ladies at WHC will get to spend the first night with her since she is back in town :)

It is strange how we can be single for so many years and be just fine; then you get married and when your spouse leaves, it leaves an emptiness in you. I guess that is all part of God's design.

Savanna - 1 Month Old

Our niece, Savanna, is growing up so fast! We are so proud of her and Jasmine. This video was taken right before Rachael went out of town... Savanna is one month old in the video (now she is one and a half).

I guess you could call this post Uncle Brandon and Aunt Rachael showing off their precious niece!

Counting the hours!

Yipee! I am counting down the hours until I arrive at home. My flight is supposed to arrive at 1:20pm. It feels so good to be feeling normal again. Except of course for the pregnancy stuff. I have been so so so so sooooo hungry. Don't worry mom, I am not eating for two just healthy for one! :)

I went to the mall they have here and was shopping at the Motherhood Maternity store. I found some really good deals! I got a beautiful spring/summer dress for $2.40! Can you believe it!!! Gotta love a good deal. :)

I can hardly wait to see everyone.

Blessings!

Elizabeth is Home!

My parents went to visit Rachael this weekend because she was feeling so ill. When they came home, they brought Elizabeth with them! I was so happy to see her and her presence helps me wait for Rachael (although I am very ready to see her!).

Elizabeth has been making the rounds and catching up with people that she hasn't seen for over a week now. Kelli is coming over and is going to keep Elizabeth at her house tonight. I may go out and visit them tomorrow though :)

Keep praying for Rachael. She is feeling much better but is still a little ill.

Pray for Character Focus as we plan to host a children's program during OCHEC on May 2-3 at the OKC Training Center. We still need volunteers! If you or anyone you know ages 14 and older would like to help, leave a comment or contact me at brandon@characterfocus.com! You can also visit http://www.characterfocus.com/.

Oh, and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my big, younger brother, Jonny! He is 18 years old today! Jon is a nut but we love him. I am planning to have some lunch with him today at 2:00pm at Jersey Mike's (where he works) and then we are going to hang out late tonight. You might send him an email or leave him a comment on his blog if you think about it.
