Update on Dad (Friday Afternoon)

Dad has yet to wake up. The doctors began some tests last night to determine why his brain is not coming out of sedation. The list of possibilities is long and ranges from minor issues to very serious issues. The doctors have done a CT scan and an EEG on his brain. They say we should get the results sometime this afternoon.

They did find a small lesion in his brain when they did the second CT scan. They say that the first scan did not pick it up because the injury is so small. At this point, they are not considering surgery. They have made some changes to medication with this new information. This could be contributing to his sedated state; however, the doctors believe there is more to learn.

Dad is responding to pain, but he is not following commands yet. The doctors have many tools and skills, but they are still very limited. Only God knows what is actually going on. Please pray to the Great Physician and ask our Lord to heal Dad and raise him up.

When the doctors speak with us, we may have some direction or we may be encouraged to continue to wait. Either way, God is in control and knows what he is doing. Dad is beginning to heal… maybe God is doing this because He knows it is the only way to keep Dad down long enough to heal. :)

Another location confirmed: Add Scottland to the list of international locations where people are lifting Dad and our family up in prayer.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Brandon,

We are friends of your Uncle Scott. We have been praying since we heard of the accident. We have passed the request on to friends. You can add both England and Germany to your international list.

Prayers,

Lance and Kristi Murray

Hello, you don't know me, but I got your blog link from a friend's blog site. I have read through your posts about everything that happened. I just wanted you to know that I'm praying!! I hope both of them are able to recover quickly- God will bring you all thru this terrible ordeal. On a side note, I actually work for EMSA on the ambulance and see these things all too often, but my heart never gets used to these stories and sights because it is my passion to serve and help others. I'll be checking back often to see updates on your family. God bless!
